Somewhere back in May I said it and now I'll say it again. I am proud to be northern girl and a fan of the Edmonton Oilers...albeit a dissapointed one. They may not have won the cup but the fought hard right until the end. They came in as the 8th place team and fought all the way. There is no way that anyone could say that this was an easy cup win for the Hurricanes. In a word, relentless. Pisani, Rolie, Markkanen, Maureau, Smitty, Torres, the whole bunch of the boys in blue...they are MY Edmonton Oilers.
Congrats to Cam Ward, winner of the Conn Smythe trophy, playoffs MVP, and a good ole' Canadian boy. He was outstanding. Perhaps even brilliant. This is not the last award for this boy...gold medal for team Canada, perhaps?
I'm already looking forward to next season! Go Oilers Go!
